Char is hyped too fast by npcs

You know what i really don't like about skyrim?

that you get treated like a god in flesh from the first second.
sure, since the questlines are all incredibly short, there isn't much time to "develop" the way npcs treat/speak to the char, but don't you think this feels a little bit stupid?

after doing a simple pickpocketing, everyone at the thievesguild tells you that you are the best thief of all time and will bring back the guild to glory.
same with the companions , 3 missions which take you like 15 min each, and everyone likes you.

after playing the game for like 40 minutes, it shows that you are the dragonborn everyone has been waiting for. you become thane of whiterun after being one of like 10 people beeing involved in killing a dragon.

don't you think the char should "work" a bit more for all this appreciation?

lol

Just wait til you actually reach spot where you think you've earned their respect and they don't even acknowledge you, or worse, treat you like the 'new guy'.

The dragon born part makes sense the way it works in game. A bunch of people see you absorb the soul of a dragon and treat you like a demi god for it, in the world of Skyrim that makes sense.

You are however correct on all other counts. The worst being the companions. 3 or 4 quests done and you're their leader. The worst part is if you go into the old harbinger's room your can find his journal, in it he described how he likes you and wants to groom you to become harbinger. After reading the whole thing you're given the impression that the game is just letting your see the highlights of your character's life and your should assume that while you're not playing your character is hanging out with the Companions which explains why they think so highly of you.

Really now? Because even though I am the Listener, the Archmage, the leader of the Thieves Guild, the leader of the Companions AND the [censored] Dovahkiin who killed Alduin and saved the world, people still treat me like a milk drinker.

yeah this is another problem. the npcs never change the same few lines they always brabble.
the ones which are actually relevant (and give quests to you), worthship you after doing 2 quests, when it comes to the "quest" talking.
the one which don't give quests to you, keep saying the same stupid sentence, even if you are the new "guildmaster".
but this isn't really a problem of the way you get "hyped" during the questlines. its only because they didn't care for giving npcs more than 1 sentence they can say. (has to be a sad life)

Whatever happened to hail citizen. I mean they could have gone with hail Dark Elf. They do have hail Kinsman. It's pretty pathetic to hear the same exact lines over and over and over and over and over and over again for 300 hrs. And some of the lines are really pathetic. Do you travel often to the cloud district, what am I saying of course you don't. I'm watching you sneak thief even though you're the thane of the city and never stole anything, the list goes on. Some of the guard lines, someone at Bethesda must have thought were funny but the lines are just plain stupid. How you can't talk to the jarl after you become the than to his hold. Ok, that's a big one and very shortsighted. The list goes on.
