Stormcloak or Imperials !?!

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 5:57 am

So I'm making this decision purely on which faction has the better overall questline, in terms of good dungeons, story, twists, variety of quests, etc.

I'm planning to finish skyrim soon and not play til some two month later. So purely for the sake of having a good playthrough, need you guy's help on this decision.

Please no spoilers. Thank you.

It's pretty much the same quest with a different skin. You should ask NPCs about each side so you can determine which best suits your character.

The Imperial questline was pretty monotonous, with just a couple variances. It boiled down to 'capture enemy forts', one per hold.

That said, even if the Stormcloak questline were better I'd never even entertain the thought of choosing it. Imperial for life :stare:

There's only two times the quests differ, not counting the initiation quest:

1. Is the Battle of Whiterun. For Imperials, you're basically just doing a defend the castle Nazi Zombie style defense. It's just kill as many Stormcloaks as possible and get that percentage down to 0. For Stormcloaks, it's more fun firstly. You fight through waves of Imperials, open the drawbridge, and fight your way to Dragons Reach

2. The Final Battle of Solitude/Windhelm. Barely at all however. It's the same format but the environments are vastly different and I find the Solitude battle less epic than the Windhelm battle. Although I am a Stormcloak person, I just find the Windhelm setting to be more fitting for a final attack.

It all boils down to your political, social, and ethical views about the factions. Both factions have incredibly strong arguments as to why support them so just go with where your heart takes you.

I played stormcloak the first run through. I started to play imperial the second time through but after talking to Tullius I found that I just cant stand the bastard. There is just no way that I can see my character going from the chopping block straight to kiss his ass and ask to join up with him. It just makes no sense. So I started over again and I will go neutral up until my character finds enough information in game that would lead him to choose to go with the imperials - if that is possible at all.

edit: wow Im surprised i didnt get bleeped :)
