Anyone else think the college of winterhold is like Harry Po

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 9:42 pm

You - Harry Potter
Ancano - Severus Snape/Voldemort
Tolfdir - Hagrid
Savos Aren - Dumbledore
Mirabelle Ervine - The other woman wizard
Onmund - Ron
J'zargo - Malfoy
Faralda - Hermione

The Midden - Chamber of Secrets

And the whole questline chane seems kinda' Harry Potterish.

Anyone else think this?

Ancano always reminded me of Draco Malfoy's dad.

Lucio malfoy, I think? Lucio.. Lucien.. ? Som many lucys..

It's a quite odd to think the Winterhold college as a Harry potterish theme. But, anyway, nothing is impossible. In the end, every designer takes his influences and references from the World.

But Doesn't feel right to compare. Let's leave it this way for now. :P

EDIT: But I must confess I feel like batman while wearing the Nightingale armor. xD

Only similarities I drew is that it's an exclusive magic school with faculty and students and it has its own share of secrets only the higher-ups are supposed to know about (the Midden, basically). Other than that, I don't really see it. There were other fantasy series before Harry Potter that featured a magic school...like Ursula K. Le Guin's A Wizard of Earthsea. I think the College of Winterhold actually reminds me more of Roke from Earthsea than it does of Harry Potter...

I didn't know HP became the headmaster of hog warts after only attending it for a week and having very poor magical ability.

yeah , i mean i understand why to add all of these kind of stuff it gives all the scifi nerdy types something to banter about, but if i wanted to find Millennium falcons keys i would play a star wars game

I've never met anyone else that read that book! I thought it was pretty amazing. Isn't it a series, too, or was it just the one book?

I've been snipped! :cryvaultboy: (My bad, it was meant as a joke but clearly ruffled some feathers. I'll try and keep my humor dial turned to obvious going forward. To the OP I apologize for changing the direction of your post).

Back on topic... it can't be Hogwarts without wands!
