I did do a search for rested...but all I get is werewolf threads back.

I want to know what the big deal is about sleeping. What is the rested perk??

If you are rested you get a bonus to the speed your skills increase. I can't remember the specifics, but I believe they're 5% if you sleep, 10% faster if you sleep in a bed you own, and 15% faster if you sleep in a bed you own if your husband/wife is also in the house.

I don't think you'd be very well rested to be honest

Does it vary with how long you sleep, say 1 hour compared to 8 hours?

like said above it increases the rate of your learning skills. It's really useful if you, say, fast travel to whiterun because you are going to do a smithing/enchanting/alchemy level session after you've gathered your ingredients, but you roll in at like 3 AM (which happens to me all the time).

So, pop in your house, sleep for 4-5 hours, come out and power craft and now you can actually sell at least some of your gear on the spot as opposed to lugging it all around.

hmmm...interesting! I didn't realize that about 'amount' of sleep either.

Oh well... I'm a werewolf ... I just wanted to know what I was missing. LOL

According to the Strategy Guide, the effect lasts for 8 hours.
