@Halthor - I AM talking to you. This is an open forum, you do not get to pick and choose who may or may not respond to your public posts. It the person quoting you was replying in a civil tone and not flaming, you then have the option to ignore their post and wait for a post you do wish to respond to, or, because multiple people are in the thread and all discussing the same thing, responding courteously. Naturally if someone is being belligerant and flaming, you would not respond at all, but instead, hit the report button before the thread gets derailed. As someone wisely did in this thread.

Now that we have settled that little bit of forum posting etiquette and I can finish deleting the derailing posts, you all may carry on your discussion.

Your privilege as moderator is to edit or delete anything you see as disruptive. I have no problem with it.

I'm with ya. Last night I was just standing in Riften (waiting for a house owner to exit so I could sneak in) and the game froze. It wasn't autosaving, didn't have inventory up or ANYTHING. I had to reset my system and lost about an hour worth of exploration. It's happened to me quite a few times as my save approached 1MB. It's gotten so bad that I've been forced to create a second character. I hope they fix it cuz I'm no where near done with my first character.

One thing Bethesda could have done (and maybe they did, I do not know) is to engage in some customer or user Beta testing. I suspect if more time had been spent on that, the lag issue and other annoyances would have been repaired or minimized before launch. In lieu of that, most of the game's issues (apart from the lag) are design shortcomings and not really testing issues. The design scenarios needed to address more alternative scenarios that focused on broken or missing or out of sequence scenarios.

Isn't that what happened on 11/11/11? Wasn't that the consumer/user beta testing? Cause that's the only thing I can think of that explains all these bugs.

......yes I'm a little bitter.

Imagine How the game was before bug testing... It probably just exploded the T.V. and send glass shards into your face.

With their third patch coming up I say they're doing a pretty good job

Is that the patch to fix everything they broke in the other patch, or the patch to fix the patch that patched the first patch? Because I've lost track.

Maybe I'd go so far so to say "Misinformation". Prime example is the packaging stating that internet access was only needed for activation. Why is it that steam needs to connect to the internet even in offline mod and usually in my case, breaking my connection after I've left the game; resulting in my having to hard reboot my computer.

Just keep in mind one thing when complaining about buggy Bethesda games.

The worst kind of game to debug or make bug free is an MMO.

The immediate next worse is a TES game because:
#1 it's unending
#2 there's multiple "mainquests" ie thief/mage/warrior/civil/etc
#3 there's no set classes
#4 the list goes on.

That said, Skyrim definitely seems more stable than Oblivion 1.0 was. They must have done something correctly.
