Dragonbone sword and bow

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 7:38 am

Why are there no dragon based weapons? Seriously it makes zero sense. Can anyone explain this absurdity? Why did I waste the perk on dragon smithing if they can't even make the best weapon? Not only that but why have dragon VISIBLY CONNECTED to daedric but not let me learn daedric through dragon? Now i'm stuck with ugly ass armor and the 3rd best weapons in the game (glass). Can't even polish ebony to a rival degree without a bunch of enchanted gear. It makes zero sense the dang dragonborn can't fashion a fuggin sword out of dragon bone like wtf? If it is the strongest armor wouldn't it be the strongest sword? It's lazy an dumb and completely nullifies the dragon smithing perk. On a similar note you can ask the fletcher in solitude to make you "dragonslaying arrows" he laughs in your face and says dragons aren't real. WTF!!!!? Dude I just killed a dragon in your effing city! And why can't we make arrows either?

I wish there were dragon based weapons too. Mentally I excused them for not being able to get the art done in time or some such. But I'd love to see both arrow crafting and dragon type weapons with the first DLC release.

There is a mod (Tyranis? I think) that adds literally HUNDREDS of new craftables to the game.

Including several types of dragon gear, for example, with that mod a dragon drops:

dragon meat
dragon bones
dragon scales
2 dragon eyes
dragon brains
1 dragon skull
dragon heart

all are used to create lots of different things, like spell tomes, staves, "special" armor like the DB and TG gear, etc etc.

Ah, the drawbacks of the PS3. *wistful sigh*

The armor is basically taped and carved dragon parts placed on some leather.
Since weapons in this game are all made of some ore that was smelted somehow, and since dragon parts dont smelt into ingots, theres no way to forge a weapon.

Sure, you can carve it, but that doesnt mean its strong. Since forging involves folding the metal and such, heating and cooling and all that, theres no way to include dragon weapons.

Going by realistic terms and what Ive seen in game, anyway.

This is the first time I've even heard the idea of dragon based weapons. It didn't even occur to me, since I've always thought the dragon scales and bones comparable to hides and pelts. Since there is no such thing as a hide sword or leather bow, I never expected there to be dragon weapons either.

But you are certainly right about the smithing perk tree being annoying, though.

At least give us a dragon bow. Which seems more realistic than a 2h sword. Anyways, I will look for that mod for craftables when I get home tonight.

Been playing a lot less just waiting for the construction set to come out for stuff like this

That makes perfect sense, especially if you think about glass armor.

It is not made of glass.

The actuall material is Malachite ore, which is called "glass" because it is transparent, like glass.

I actually posted this earlier in this thread: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1315016-dragon-weapons/page__p__19772492#entry19772492

I would really love to see some dragon weapons included in a patch. I wouldn't want to pay for them though. The distinctions on which materials can make weapons and which can't seems really arbitrary and random and, frankly, is kind of annoying. I liked that you can make jewelry, but silver weapons should still be an option as well as dragonbone/scale/talon/tooth.

I'd bet money on dragon weapons in a dlc or even a stand alone, I just don't trust em!
