I've played a Mage and a Rogue, am now moving onto a warrior

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 10:11 am

Title pretty much says it all. On my Rogue I started with the thieves guild and the DBH armour. On my mage I rushed the Winterhold quest chains for nice caster pieces. I feel a little better about my playthroughs if I don't have to worry about optimizing equipment every second in the beginning of the game. However during those playthroughs I don't recall any quests that would similarly give warriors some decent gear to wear while we gather supplies for smithing our own pieces. Can anyone help me out? Is there something adjacent for warriors that I can't recall or may have just skipped in my last play throughs that is accessible at a low level?

Anyone? A simple 'there isn't one' would suffice, I'm sitting here waiting to see what my next step is T_T

Warriors don't get full enchanted armour like rogues or mages but if you want good armour I recommend doing The Cursed Tribe quest (you can do it at level 9) the orc chief has full set of Orcish armour the 3rd best armour for warriors.

Almost all armor and weapons are leveled, except for what you can craft yourself.

I'd suggest getting your Smithing to 30 and making some dwarven gear.
Head to Mzulft (empty Gloombound Mine for ebony on the way) SE of Windhelm. There's a small building near the entrance that has enough dwemer junk to make weapons and a suit of armor.

Or you could just trek to Whiterun when you have about 600 septims and buy a suit of Wolf Armor from the guy at the Skyforge. It counts as Steel so it can be improved at maximum efficiency with only one Perk point in the smithing tree. It's also the lightest weight Heavy armor you can buy, yet has higher base armor numbers than Elven armor.

If you follow Ralof in the keep you can get a full set and two partial sets of Imperial Heavy armour in Helgen keep.

If you go to Iron Bind Barrow, you can acquire a set of steel plate armor, an axe with a unique enchantment and some black soul gems. Or go to Riften and complete Unfathomable Depths. You'll find some dwarven armor and enough materials to craft the rest along with a perk that makes dwarven armor better.

If you're referring to the Ancient Knowledge perk, it's actually bugged so it improves all your armor by 25%, as well as inmproving your smithing by 15%.
