Magic Killcams not Working Properly

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 8:41 am

There have been two instances now where the slow motion magical killcam has started, showing me casting my lightning bolts at the enemy, but the enemy doesn't actually get killed by them.

So....Beth's new patch with new stuff causes new issues, instead of them fixing more existing broken stuff....wow...never would have guessed...thank the stars for Kivan and team. They do 5 times as good as work fixing things, in one tenth the time....makes you wonder sometimes doesn't it

Don't bother complaining, OP. Bethesda's stance is that what you are experiencing is caused by mods or you are imagining things.

Is that an official one written somewhere?
It's not a complaint, it's feedback so Bethesda can fix it. I sincerely doubt that mods are causing the magic killcams to fail.

.... Ugh. I count myself lucky then.

Wasn't surprised - providing feedback so they can fix it, if they are able and have the inclination.

It certainly does. Kivan and the team??? Will I find them on Nexus/Steam Workshop? Can you link me?

No. And I haven't heard that at all. Generally, you disable all mods when experiencing a problem as Beth cannot be held responsible for what modders do and do not do to the game.

Disable all your mods and plugins and third party add-ons first, just to make sure.

They are modders working on unofficial fixes and passing along the list of broken stuff to Beth. They are in no way affiliated with Beth.

Here's the USKP thread: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1362032-beta-unofficial-skyrim-patch-thread-4/

Thanks Deaths_Soul for linking that ( since I just got back online ), as soon as the USKP is out of Beta, I'm sure Kivan and team will upload it to someplace like the Nexus. For now just use the thread Death linked to find the download link :)

First of all yes, that's exactly what Gstaff said. Secondly, I'm agreeing with you. I have wonky killcams as well and it's not caused by mods.

No. And I haven't heard that at all.
Believe it or don't. Gstaff said in no uncertain terms that there would be no killcam toggle. The post was in the 1.5 beta forum which seems to have disappeared

And there you go. Blaming mods where there are none. This is not an isolated incident. See here: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1364114-archery-post-15/

I know he said that, but that has absolutely nothing to do with this thread. He's wondering why they aren't working at all.

Wrong. I'm not blaming mods. You always disable all your mods to make sure they aren't the problem. Beth CANNOT be held responsible if someone else messes up your game. Plain and simple.

To address your first point, he quoted me; You quoted him; I quoted you. Sorry if I got the responses crossed.

As for the mods, your advice is sound. It's also the equivalent of tech support asking you: "Is the machine plugged in? Did you press the power button?" A logical and methodical approach that becomes very frustrating after the 20th or so time you hear it.

Actually, it's quite different. It'd be the same if I had asked, "Is the game installed?"

This is akin to me asking, "Are you modifying the wiring yourself to try and get more juice than you should to your GPU/CPU?"

Basically, I'm trying to make sure it's the vanilla game at fault and not some funky user edits.

Not really. I just try to make sure that I get my point across. I do tend to get a bit carried away though. >_>

Personally, I don't like to argue. ;)

Done, and the issue still exists. It only happens rarely if ever.

Thanks for the link  Don't worry, I do know they aren't affiliated to Beth.

Thanks for both of your help guys.

This happens a LOT with Archery. shifting into kill-cam when the arrow itself doesn't even make contact. Over and over again.
