Skyrim Gaming Rig.

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 11:24 am

I was hoping that someone could recommend me a gaming rig, that could support Skyrim flawlessly. Be honest and give me a price and even recomend me a computer. My birthday is coming up and I'm looking for a PC to game on. I'm curious as to how much it'll cost.

I bought the best components i could afford and built my own in early November just in time for the Skyrim release. I'm very happy with the results so far ...

PC Gamer (U.S.) just released their Spring 2012 build-your-own-PC. I just saw it on the magazine rack at the store but didn't look through it. But their past issues have been pretty good. They usually show 3 different builds, low-end, medium, and high-end. Take a look at that issue.

Here is some of the information that is needed to even begin to make recommendations.

1.) your budget in your country's currency
2.) what country you reside if not listed in your avatar area
3.) pre-assembled PC? ...or can you build your own?
4.) what is needed other than the PC tower? Monitor, speakers, mouse, keyboard, Windows OS disc? All these can jack up the price.
5.) product preferences, preferred seller, and intended aim

Oh yeah, this is better served in http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1358707-the-community-tech-thread-no-113/ found in Community Discussion.

Try to build around an Intel processor, the i5 2400 or if you plan to overclock the i5 2500K. If your budget is really tight look at the i3 2130 will do the job as well. For graphics I would look for a GTX 560ti or better, this will give you great graphics and nVidia seems to have less driver issues. Make sure you have at least 4 gigs of RAM and you should be golden.

Nope, all individual components. Below is the list. It's certainly not top of the line, but it's working very well for me.
