Quest items in inventory

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 12:55 pm

I've been collecting loot throughout my travels, not really concerned about how much stuff I pick up cause I'll just sell it or use it, right? Well I have 82 bottles of Alto Wine and I think about 20 Giant's Toes and when I try to use or sell either of these it says 'Quest items cannot be removed from your inventory'. Well I assume I only need one of each of these for their respective quests but I can't do anything with them and they are taking up over 100 in weight! I need help with finding these quests because when I look through my journal it's not showing me anything of use!

For both items?

I'm now having the same issue with the same two items after having woken up in the temple. Before that, I could store all the Alto wine and giant toes I wanted. Well, time to finish the quest, lol. On a related note, I now have two of those mysterious gems, and haven't been back to Rften for that quest line, either. Not to mention the witch's head...

Quest items don't have weight. Drop all your stuff and you'll see.

Or, you can sell the toes and wine. I figured that out randomly. It won't let you drop them, but you can still sell them to a vendor.

Quest items don't weigh anything, no, but there seems to be some bug in the game that prevents you from dropping/selling the same NON-quest item. For example, The amulet of Talos is at some point a quest item, but along my travels I found two other Talos amulets, and I couldn't sell them, because one out of the now three ones was a quest item. Maybe they corrected this in some patch (haven't patched my game).

to get round the necklace of talos problem you had you can posibbly equip one as it will then list is seperately to the other 2 in your ivnentory alowing you to sell either the equiped or inventory ones as it should only flag one of those "stacks" as quest items

Nah the description says they do, but if you drop everything but them, you will be at 0 weight.
