I did the quest where I had to use three of J'zargo's flame cloak scrolls (and suffered the consequences!), now I'm left with seven. Are they good for anything besides selling?

They're pretty handy if you get swarmed by undead (Especially Draugr packed in tight spaces, they don't seem to do much to Vampires though), as they do a pretty fair bit of damage (not counting the damage they do to you). Beyond that, no. Both Fire and Magic Resist should mitigate the damage to you (Magic Resist does anyway).

Take a look at the Elder Scrolls wiki before you use them when "swarmed by undead" as Mythgaard suggests... as the undeads explode when they're killed with one of these scrolls, and do pretty hard damage to you, too - meaning several undead = several times hard damage = most likely death

I think you'd need a rather high fire resist to mitigate all that damage.

I guess, between a magic resist necklace and a magic resist potion I only lost about half a bar using one against 3 or 4 Draugr (I dont know if all 4 were in range), which is much less than I would have lost with all of them beating on me while disarmed. That's with about 250 HP. Possibly a bit more from a Fort HP pot, I don't remember.

So...something like 70% MR? I think Eminent is 50 or 60, the potion is 10.

They're are excellent at killing/pissing off followers.

J'zargo was trying to get you killed... on purpose. Don't sabotage yourself with those dang scrolls!

Yeah, I'd just sell them. The normal Flame Cloak spell is the way to go...

I never sell scrolls I just keep them. But that is just me. Can't wait till my skyrim gets fixed!#$
