Found the new "arrow in the knee"

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 9:27 pm

I just managed to reach Windhelm and suddenly a nord with a guard voice says:
"I used to be the best warrior of the Stormcloacks, then I took a sword in my chest"

I just realized a new version of the arrow in the knee and ... it seems so stupid now. :S

Have anyone else found this npc?

Not sure of what he says. But it's something very close to "sword in the chest".

No.

Only Hrongar Once-Honored (is that his name?) says that. Nobody else has that dialog. Hence "once-honored". ALL guards say, "I used to be an adventurer like you... Until I took an arrow to the knee."

The arrow to the knee comment is an Easter egg/reference to past Elder Scrolls games where greaves, armor that covers the thighs and the knees, were equippable items.

Didn't know about beeing an easter egg about the greaves. haha. Arrow in the knee... hehe.

I used to create useful threads.
Then I got bored to the knees. (to the bones.. )

I saw that guy the other day. I was just running past him and heard him say something about a sword to the chest. I turned around and was like "What?".

Seems like a bit of a stretch, Slim.

He's begging with his "sword in the chest" story, but if you talk to him some more, he implies that he was stabbed in the back...
I think he's also one of the two Nords harassing the Dunmer on first arrival to Windhelm.

This is the internet. The place where two pieces of information that are true equal facts about a third thing if somebody likes it. I used to use the same logic when I was 8 years old, playing detective with my friends. Let's solve a crime! The Browns' trash barrels were knocked over! Mr. Jones sure did yell at us last week didn't he? He must be the culprit.

While both situations are true, we dreamed up the connection. I guess in a way, I invented the internet.
