A month or two ago i suddenly got a wierd render issue in skyrim, i tried to delete all the mods and reinstall the game, but it did not work.
I have not bothered to fix it yet, but I want to do it know, it used to work just fine.

Is your GPU an AMD/ATI card, by any chance?

If so: my guess is you have the 12.2 driver set (will report as 12.3 in the CCC, but have an install date prior to March 28th). Those drivers cause pixellation/artifacts much like that when combined with Skyrim's in-game AA.

Uninstall those drivers and install the newer 12.3s, or with an older driver set if you prefer. That will fix it.

Thank you!
This seems to be the case, i'm downloading the new drivers now, you were correct with the dates, and it was around that time that Skyrim stopped working.
Thanks good sire!

Edit: yes, to confirm, it works perfectly now! Silly AMD, not updating my driver :)
Now it's time for mods, lot's of them!

Ah, thanks. This is the issue I'd had. I figured out it was the driver and rolled it back but I didn't know which one it was so I'd been afraid to try updating again. Now I know which one to avoid.
