Just like the title says. I'm on a brand new machine with the following hardware:

AMD Thuban 3,2 GHz 6 core CPU
16 GB Kingston HyperX DDR3 @ 1600 MHz
PowerColor Radeon 6870 HD

All the latest versions of Steam, Skyrim, and the newest ATi Drivers (catalyst 12.3).

What happens is when I leave an area, instead of the game giving me a loading screen, it locks up the computer completely. No CTD, no keyboard function (so no CTRL + ALT + Delete, etc.), just a black screen and the only way to get back to the desktop is a hard reset. I disabled saving to the Steam Cloud, and did the Verify integrity of Game Cache thing, and it still does it. Does anyone have any ideas? I can provide more system information if necessary. TIA.

EDIT: Seems once again ATi drivers are to blame. Rolled back the driver to 12.1 and it works fine now. Anyone having this problem should yet again roll back the driver to 12.1.
