Strange Texture "Stretching"?!?!?

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 8:18 pm

I have a couple pictures to show you guys to see if you have ever seen this before.

I have no clue how it was caused, or how to remedy. Short of markfordelete, which I did on this particular instance, but I know that markfordelete is a plaster on a wound here, so I was hoping someone here would know what this is, what's caused it, and hopefully a remedy to any future occasions.

Here is the pics:

Have you tried these 2 things? -

Clean install of the latest graphics drivers.
Verify game integrity in steam.

Well, it only ever happened that once so far.

Fully up to date with drivers, and all my game files are sound. Just this anomaly.

Yes, but the driver could be corrupted or something. Hence the clean reinstall of the drivers.

Random texture/mesh issues similar to that can be fixed by verifying game integrity. Remember the doctor's spinning head in Fallout NV? :P

Jutlst food for thought if it happens again. It's not something I've ever come across in my game :)

Well, I've seen it in other games I played. It was usually caused by faulty drivers, a bad GPU, or trying to push my system more than I should have.

(Yes, I've seen it a lot even if I haven't seen it in over 5 years on my end. >.>)

Good times. I loved that.

Uninstall current, reboot, install latest non-beta/preview/whatever, reboot, ???, profit!

Is that a khajiit or argonian? (hard to tell) If so, it looks like something has replaced the beast skeleton mesh with another that's incompatible. Check all your mods for anything that adds it's own skeleton and delete that mesh.

That is just a mesh spazzing out. In a spectacular fashion I might add but I doubt it is a very severe issue, especially if you've only encountered it once.

Yeah, I think I'll put off doing anything until I see it (or any other weirdness) again.
But it's good to know I have the knowledge for future happenings, thanks guys.

What do you mean? The stretched texture is that of a hawk, my charcter is a Nord, and Lydia is with me?
