.Ghost added to my esm & esp files

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 7:07 pm

Some reason from time to time when Skyrim crashes to the desktop. I'll try to relaunch the game, but when I do the game starts up then crashes again. I then open up Nexus Mod Manager & it tells me it can not find the Skyrim.esm. So I go to the folder & such then I see Skyrim.esm.ghost? as in this screenshot. Why does this .ghost get added to the esm or esp files. when the game crashes? I'm running windows 7 64 bit version.

Also another question is anyone else experiencing random crashes when entering a town and so forth?

Bash does that automatically to ESM/ESPs that are not active with Auto-ghosting enabled.

I didn't have bass installed before & it did it anyways. Is there a reason why it would do it the main Skyrim.esm & anyways to remove the .ghost from the esm or esp. without renaming it? Having a pop up saying it can render it unusable?

Then it's probably an NMM bug. That extension is only used with the different mod managers.

Yes, it does it so that the game doesn't detect them as Oblivion had a 400 file limit, so anything not renamed to that would be counted towards the limit.

Er, best to ask in NMM's forum place. In Bash, you just tell it to de-ghost.

Ok thanks. I'm wandering me removing it by renaming caused the problems I was having.
