Ok, so I've been trying to collect all the Dragon words.. I talked to Greybeards to to find where I should look next and they pointed to to Killreath Ruins (near shrine of Meridia i believe.) I thought that was weird because I thought I already got that one. So I go there anyways and I get the music and and the pointer is there but when I approach nothing happens. I looked online at what i should get there and it should be word 2 of elemental fury, I already have the first 2 words. so I looked up where the 3rd word is(Shriekwind bastion) I go there (never been there before) go all the way up and find the stone. I approach and not even the music starts. I can't get the 3rd word either. because it's thinking I don't have the 2nd? but I can't get the 2nd because I already have it. And I can't go back to greybeards for another location till I finish the 2nd elemental fury word! Any suggestions? My Character is Lvl 57 so i'm not restarting! lol

First, the locations are not in order of the three words required for a shout. If you have no words for a shout and approach any of the three walls listed (even the last), you will get the first word ... approaching another wall will get you the second ... everytime.

As for the graybeards, that could be a glitch or they could be smarter than you think. Go to where they say and stand right at the wall --- nose to the stone.

Sometimes, I'm not sure how often this happens but you don't necesasrily learn the next word from the dragon walls. I had that happen with Fire Breath, the game never updated to the 3rd shout. It's not a gamebreaker for me but it might be to someone else, that could be what the OP is experienceing.

I did lol. I stood on the marker, next to wall, all around the wall, jumped off the wall, danced around marker lol nothing.... at both locations so idk. not a huge deal I just hope it doesn't stop me from getting a trophy for collecting words. playing on PS3 if it makes a difference.

The thu'um master achievement requires you to learn 20 shouts. You 'learn' a shout when you get the first word of it. You don't even need to unlock that shout to get the trophy.

specifically the shout at meridias statue will often not work. its a bug and there is no fix other than reverting to an old save from before you started the quest for meridia. just assume on this playthrough you will not get that word. it svcks and maybe itll be fixed but i doubt it.

i read that the only real way to avoid it for sure is to go to the word wall before approaching the meridia statue. that starting the meridia quest is what breaks the wall.

It's bugged.

If your on PC you can use the console to add the shouts. If not, then either forget about them and move on, reload a previous save, or start over.

Thanks for the replys, guys. good to know its an issue others know about even if i cant resolve it this playthrough. Maybe by the next time I start a new character they'll have it fixed. lol A little annoying that i can't talk to greybeards to get more locations but I can look at faqs for that if i need, got all the words i really use anyways.
