Trapped in Valthume : V

Got to the section in Valthume Catacombs with the Word Wall. Now I'm trapped behind a set of bars that won't lift. Is there something I'm supposed to do to lower them?

Um. Yes.... but I don't remember what just now. I'll go to Valthume tomorrow and see if something triggers the memory. Or hopefully someone will come along who doesn't need to wait that long to provide the info!

have you tried equipping a torch? there may be a hard to see lever or chain somewhere

from t internet:

Once defeated the iron bar gates barring you from obtaining the word will open in the Valthume Catacombs. Sometimes the iron bar gates do not open after you kill Hevnoraak. If this happens, the room with the iron bars will have a pressure plate (The same pressure plate you obtained one of the three vessels from) you can stand on, then the gates will pry open.

Unfortunately I'm actually trapped behind the gate in the little cove with the word wall, so I can't get to the pressure plate. I'm guessing this is some sort of glitch. Will my only way to escape be to reload a previous save?

If you're on PC just go into console and toggle clipping (TCL), then walk thru the bars. Remember to toggle it back on

fus ro dah an item onto the pressure plate and it will lower the bars...ez pz!

I was just down there and there was a skeleton laying up against the dragon wall. I found it a bit odd.
