Any ideas on the massive fps drop when going from in- to out

Do you get FPS drops in outdoor scenes after a while? Take a look at your RAM usage when this "transition-lag" occurs, and see if you notice it spiking up. You should have a look at your savegame sizes aswell.

No, I can do outdoor scenes without troubles at all. No matter how long, there is no massive fps drop in outdoor scenes.
I did check RAM and there is no weird thing there.
Also my savegame size is no problem: it is now just under 12 Mb. Don't know how long it is in time that I played now but I am at level 48 now.

I've had this issue time and again and it most certainly is related to the shadow system for the game. Turn your shadows down from ultra to high and there will be no more fps dips like the one you describe OP. It doesn't happen all the time, but it does every so often, so I just turn down my shadows and it's fixed.

Okay, I am gonna try that. I do hate the looks of the jagged shadows with High settings but if that solves the fps drop, then that is a small price to pay. I'll report back on this tip.

Did try with High shadow settings instead of Ultra and no difference: going from in- to outdoor and fps drop from 60 to 15 :(
Thanx for the tip though :)

This is good advice that eliminates this annoying bug. I decided to randomly try this a few days ago because I remembered the shadows are screwy and it completely solved everything + added a few FPS. Try this, I personally can't even tell the difference between high and ultra, and I am obsessed with graphics. At least with enb series I cannot tell the difference.

Okay, I stand corrected: this indeed makes a big difference!!!  I still get a massive fps drop when going from in- to outdoor but it's now only maybe 1 out of 10 times instead of the 7 out of 10 times.
So, yet another shadow bug introduced by the 1.5 downgrade? :(

After 2 days with these setting I can say that it does make a difference to use High shadow settings instead of Ultra. But the effect is not that big as I hoped it would be. I still get the massive fps drop when going from in- to outdoor, just not that often anymore. It's now around 3 out of 10 times.
