If you are looking for a rare Skyrim experience, here's your character (based on the least popular responses to the character survey: http://www.kwiksurveys.com/online-survey.php?surveyID=OOELNF_b1608c07):

* Redguard or Orc.
* A friend of the Altmer.
* Female.
* A master of Two-handed, Alteration, Illusion, and Block.
* A wielder of warhammers and a pugilist.
* Wear your favorite city's guards' armor or the Penitus Oculatus armor.
* Become a vampire.
* Join the Bards College and the Imperials.
* Pay the bandit tolls.
* Kill everyone you meet and take their $#!t.
* Learn to cook.
* Avoid enchanted weapons and apparel.
* Worship Zenithar

The latest results (418 respondents): http://www.mediafire.com/?mdugmpc8gd4u43g

I have a character in the works now that fits most of those criteria. Way tougher than the first go round with a dual war-axe wielding Bosmer conjurer/archer decked out in Nightingale Armor, but good fun.

I'm not interested in the Goat Quest until we have goat nudity mods, goat armor, goat romance options, and goat mating animations.

Ever wandered why it's a "rare Skyrim experience" to do most of these?

Too early in the game to answer appropriately.
Nice poll nonetheless.

* Redguard or Orc.
I currently have a Redguard character and have also messed around with an Orc character, but didn't play on that one much.

* A friend of the Altmer.
She feels neutral toward the Altmer, and the Thalmor in general.

* Female.
Yep.

* A master of Two-handed, Alteration, Illusion, and Block.
She's a Master of Illusion and has some skill in Alteration. My other character is a master of Two-handed.

* A wielder of warhammers and a pugilist.
Nope. I just learned what the word "pugilist" meant though. :D I've been planning on making a hand-to-hand Khajiit fighter one day soon though.

* Wear your favorite city's guards' armor or the Penitus Oculatus armor.
I have an Imperial in the Imperial Legion that wears the Penitus Oculatus armor. I'd never wear town guard armor, because I'd never roleplay a town guard.

* Become a vampire.
Wait. This is a minority thing? Been there, done that.

* Join the Bards College and the Imperials.
Already did.

* Pay the bandit tolls.
Did that too just to see what would happen.

* Kill everyone you meet and take their $#!t.
No.

* Learn to cook.
I have a basic understanding of it but haven't done much more than cook a few stakes and soups. Learning it more in-depth is on my to-do list for future roleplaying endeavors though.

* Avoid enchanted weapons and apparel.
Now that's just impractical. I refuse. At least for now.

* Worship Zenithar
My Imperial worships the Eight. Close enough.

So yeah, I'd say I'm not part of the norm of people who play Skyrim. I try to have unique characters.

It's not really rare if it's taken from POPULAR opinion.

Unless you based it off the OPPOSITE of the results. :wink:

Well, some are obvious (the guards' armor is junk; the Bards College doesn't quite have the same ring to it as the Dark Brotherhood; paying bandit tolls isn't exactly an exciting way to spend your doubloons, etc.) But warhammers are cool (swords are common; warhammers have character) and alteration is nasty and easy to get into early on. Illusion is pretty slick as well, though I had a little trouble finding opportunities to make use of it at lower levels. The vampires don't sparkle, so nothing wrong with them (actually haven't gone that route yet -- not sure what the consequences to game play are).

What I found most surprising was the general respect for law and order that the survey results suggested. Plenty of thieving and bending the rules now and again, but very few blood thirsty killers.

You know he said that was based on the least popular results?

And here's what the everyday, run of the mill dovahkiin looks like (based off the most popular responses):

* Nord.
* A friend of the Khajiit and Dunmer.
* Male.
* A master of Sneak, Smithing, One-handed and Archery.
* A sword wielding archer.
* Wear your Daedric or Nightingale armor.
* Become a werewolf or stay out of the monster movies altogether.
* Join the Companions.
* Spend your cash on skill training and smithing/crafting items.
* Respect the law, but bend the rules when necessary.
* Live on potions and force of will. No normal food.
* Enchant your gear.
* Don't favor one god over the others. If you must, go with Talos.

Heh, I've been planning my next character to master in Two-hand, Illusion and Alteration since I honestly haven't touched those schools at all yet. Sounds fun.
