I am on the "With Friends Like These" quest line which i believe is broken. I got as far as Astrid telling me the password to enter the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary "Silence my brother". When i get to the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary "Silence my brother" is not an option. Further more when i go back to the abandon shack Astrid is still there and she shouldnt be. I am playing on the PC version and have tried resesting quest through the console but I'm not sure how to start it up again (tried just sleeping in a bed again). I also tried skipping forward by the setstage command but the Sanctuary door remains closed. If anyone can help me figure out how to get Astrid out of the shack or begin this quest from the begining I would greatly appreciate it. It really svcks if cannot continue with what i've heard is the one of the best quest's in the game. Almost to the point that i want to quit playing.

Interesting, there are no bugs listed in the wiki for this quest.

Have you tried this: resetquest DB02 - will set the quest back to the beginning, don't know if that will work or not, or you already tried that.

Otherwise than that, I have no idea on what to do next.

I looked on 3 websites, and also searched the net, but nothing there to help you out.

Hey when these things happen, you need to immediately shut down and reboot your computer; then reload a savegame fresh.
Not doing this, instead mucking about in the console trying to brute-force things, is a recipe for disaster.
(Savegame disaster, that is.)
Refer to the Wiki and see EXACTLY how things are supposed to go.
If they're not happening, bail right away and reboot.
Load fresh and try again...
All Windows-based gaming PCs need to be restarted at least once a day.
I have encountered numerous oddities in my 1000 hours of play - usually after an extended play session of 5-6 hours plus - and all are cured by rebooting.
Yes the DB is a great questline...
But the console is not yer pal (It's more of a last resort, y'know?)
Anyway, you can still fix this - go back to a previous savegame not containing the reset quest, under the ideal technical conditions, to see.
Successful troubleshooting must be very methodical.
It would be very unusual if your problem was 100% reproducible from an earlier savegame.
Maybe you know all this stuff already (sorry) but many folks are unaware.

After further research i believe the bug happened when i initially left the aabandon house back when i was level 20. I haven't revisted this quest since then so i would have to go back from level 60 and reload my save game from before the quest even started and i dont think im doing that.

Ok get this I was able to locate a save back when i was level 40 which allowed me to continue on the Dark Brotherhood quest. The correct option appeared at the Dark Sanctuary and i was able to proceed. I was happy i figured it out and was moving on with my game. Your not going to believe this one, i get to the part of the DB quest line where I have to enter in the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary located over by Dawnstar which again you need to answer a specif answer to get in. Guess what option is not there, i have Ciceros
book which has the answer, my dialog to Astrid even says i have the answer to get in. Its back and i think im pretty much done with this bugged quest. I the bright side i have Shadowmere now do i guess i can keep him for the remainder of my game.
