Steam overlay issues.

The in-game Steam overlay refuses to work for my Skyrim. My Skyrim was digitally purchased through Steam itself; and oddly enough the Steam overlay "press (key) to access Steam" prompt appears in the bottom right corner as it does most games. However, from there, when I press the key to access Steam it will simply not open. It doesn't even really seem to try.

I use Windows XP Home Edition (32bit) and run with quite recent nVidia GeForce GTX 260 drivers.

hmm, try disabling the overlay, starting the game, then leaving then re-enabling the overlay? or if you are using custom keys (other than the default shift+tab) it may not work because for some reason steam no likey customs on skyrim, I had the same problem with a custom map screenshot button.

Reverting it to shift-tab has resolved it.

Is there any word from Bethesda to address this odd issue? It's not a major concern, but I am used to using the key that I used prior.
