Uninstall Skyrim leaving updates in the pc.

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 8:04 pm

Hi,

I installed Skyrim from disc the day it was released, and then proceeded to patch it everytime Steam released an update.
Now I'd like to free some space in my hard drive, so I'd like to uninstall Skyrim. The problem is that my internet connection downloads max 60 kb/s so it would require a huge amount of time to repatch again the game If i'd choose to reinstall it in the future.
Is there a way to uninstall only the "vanilla" Skyrim leaving the updates/patches in the pc, in order to have to install only from disk next time without all the downloading?

Thanks,

Bonfi

Burn the entire currently updated version to a 8 GB DVD+R DL, then throw away the old disc and uninstall ALL the files?

I suggest that you save your entire game (using the Steam backup feature) on an external hard drive and then uninstall. The day you'll want to put it back, you'll only have to restore your backup. :)

The "Steam backup feature" is thouroughly unnecessary. Just compress the files then move/burn.

The Steam backup feature does that in one row. ;)

You don't need the cloud to backup your games.
