Console Command to Make Companions Play Well Together

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 3:42 am

After trudging around Skyrim with Lydia for the first 100 or hours of my game, I decided to give her a break from carrying my burdens, left her at Breezehome and went up to the Shrine of Azura to pick up Aranea Ienith and try her out as a companion. So far she's done very well, except for one problem. I'm also letting Meeko the dog follow me around (I got used to having a mutt tagging along with me in Fallout 3), and when Aranea attacks enemies with her spells, I think Meeko gets caught in the AOE and then goes after Aranea (he never went aggro on Lydia, but Lydia doesn't use magic).

I'm not going to keep quicksaving before every skirmish because I'm afraid my companions will be at each others' throats after the fight. Is there any console command that will make Meeko recognize Aranea's attacks as friendly fire and ignore them like he ignores my frequent friendly fire incidents (and yes, I'm on PC)?

If there's not, I'm going to drop Meeko off back at his shack and then keep going.

Thanks!

You could try to add Meeko to the faction of Aranea but I can't really tell you how to do it. It's best if you look it up on the uesp.net wiki.

Should work IMO, as the NPCs of the mages college don't attack each other either when they do fireball bombing runs in fights and the only thing that connects them is the faction.

Another example are the Companions: After I decided to kill everyone in Whiterun with Storm Call I caught sight of a few warriors holding their own against the guards and slaughtering everyone like I was doing, namely Eorlund, Farkas and the Dunmer. Was kinda funny too see Eorlund butchering through Whiterun as he is essential and thus cannot die.
