If you've played the DB, how did you feel about the return o

Spoiler
...Lucien Lachance, from Oblivion?

I think I about [censored] myself when he appeared.

I never really respected Astrid. I could always tell that she was afraid, paranoid and weak.

But as for you-know-who, I always liked him. He was a good guy and a total badass. He and Astrid both have a similar way of speaking, but he pulls it off so much better. He seems like the sort of guy who would slaughter your family and not bat an eyelid. Astrid feels, to me, like a cheap imitation.

Anyone else happy to see him return?

Astrid and her rabble were basically just a bunch of thugs. I was glad to see what happened to her. Lucien was awesome in Oblivion, one of the coolest characters in the whole game.

"Dear Brother, I do not spread rumors. I create them."

It was cool to seem him.

Edit: Mouseking, he's a summon you get along the way. Under the "Powers" tab, I believe.

U have to randomly decide to summon him. He is your summoned assassin. And he gives you good info.

You have to summon him. He's dead, of course, but you can summon him as a Spectral Assassin midway through the questline.

Spoiler
After completing a certain number of Dark Brotherhood quests in Skyrim, the player receives a Power to summon a Spectral Assassin. According to the Power's description, that Assassin is Lucien Lachance. The Spectral Assassin even sounds like Lucien, and sometimes comments on how he used to be a Speaker. He also can be heard saying "I am... Lucien Lachance." when summoned.

Much like most everyone I never found out till the end of the brotherhood quest in oblivion that he was actually pretty cool. But I actually thought he was a douch bag up until that point.

And as far as astrid goes... Besides her being kinda hot... lol she seemed rather selfish the deeper I got into the BH. I still fail to understand why Babette didn't run the sanctuary. Considering she has been there for a couple of hundred years, compared to astrids what? 20 years give or take?

I guess they didn't want another vampire running the sanctuary? I wouldn't have minded. I think it would be a more practical leader. Powerful as a leader should be, live longer to uphold the 5 tenets or however ther spelled.... And better for knowing the lay of the land and law.

So to the OP I felt he was rather annoying when summoned, and never had the pleasure to really understanding him In oblivion. So it was like what ever... But he does help when need it. And he will be super helpful when the time come and I can't take my companion to "that place " being that I'm an archer and tend to need someone to hold enemy's off when they get out of hand.

The whole Lucien thing seemed very 'forced' to me. It just seemed like 'a bunch of people love Lucien, so lets throw him in there.' It just seemed silly.

As for the DB quest, I liked it. I didn't like the 'family' as much as Oblivion, and didn't feel that bad when they died, save the aragonian, maybe.I hated Cicero, and I know I'll be bombarded by fangirls. I just don't get the appeal. His voice is sooo slow, I mute it everytime.

But the quest was great. The way they threw the Night Mother in was pretty cool. I don't see it when people say it's 'darker and goreier' than Oblivion. I mean, Oblivion had a decapitated mother's head of a Serial killer, and they cannibalized Lucien.

In terms of lore, though, it makes sense. He was one of the last great members of the Black Hand before everything fell apart. If you could summon any of the past members of the Brotherhood, it made sense for it to be him.

As for Cicero, I didn't mind him too much until I read one of his journal entries and discovered that he had left my character in Oblivion dead in the forest as bear food...

I think that was a different Grand Champion. If it was indeed you, you would probably need to be a vampire or an Altmer to live that long to be killed by him. Even if it was you, it was about time you embraced your true destiny, Daedrahood >:D

I absolutely love that ghostly SoB! Hes the only companion I ever use. Everyone else tends to blow my cover when Im sneaking around, and the best part is that he will only appear when I will him to do so.

As far as companions go, it doesn't get any more convenient than having a sprectral assassin up your sleeve.

Most definitely. My assassin backstory had family ties to the oblivion db's eventual listener, so yes I was happy to see him. When the ck comes out though I want to see if I can stop him turning into a pile of game bloating goo.
