Dragon Bones and Plates

Having heard that Daedric is better than Dragon Scale, what is the value of Dragon armour, in gold terms.

I have hoarded most if not all of the dragon bones from every dragon kill,I will at some point construct a load to sell.

What smithing skill do I need to have to create armor out of dragon remains?

don't worry about armor rating. after an AR of 567 damage resistance maxes out at 80%. I get tired of people saying that daedric is "better" than dragon. since both sets will most likely get you over the cap, they are actually exactly the same. as for the money, the armor is worth quite a bit. I think its in the thousands (3-4000 IIRC) but, once you get to certain point money is also useless. I am lvl 40 with over 60,000 gold and I am not playing a thief character. I also have nothing to spend it on...I own all the houses already!

sorry if I burst your bubble, but, this is the one thing about the the game that I am not very happy with. what were they thinking when they set 567 as the cap for armor rating...

make a set and test it? also, boost speechcraft/haggling for best price. not really worth the effort though. just sell the bones and scales.

skill has to be 100 to craft it and you have to have the perk for it too.

Interesting.

In that case, I may be able to avoid the Daedra Heart hunt to create Daedra armour and go with Dragon instead.

I will still have plenty to sell I suspect.

Thanks.

Don't pass on the daedra heart hunt just yet. Daedric weapons are the best and you don't want to be without them, unless you are playing a mage! LOL But yea, I prefer dragonscale armor, since I'm trained in light armor and in that category, it's the best you can get.

Daedric armor compared to dragonscale?
High armor rating, able to reach the cap, both are kinda cool but I dislike the helmets, but I hate nearly all helms in the game I'd love to wear a circlet or hood and not invalid 75% of the light armor perks. But Dragonscale the set weights less the the body alone in daedric, why carry all that extra weight around and be less effective at sneaking? Dragonplate and daedric is more even with the base of dragonplate being just minorly better so easier to hit the cap.

You can reach the armor cap with a leather helmet. You could also make an iron dagger that could one shot a dragon. With the restoration/alchemy glitch its all about preference, you can make anything as good as you want.

I'm kinda stuck on this point. Honestly there is no way you shouldn't have more money than you know what to do with by the time you can forge Dragon armor. If you are saving it to make money, I suggest just selling the parts now. Making the armor won't help you since your Smithing Skill will already be 100 (so no leveling or anything) and you won't need to sell the armor since you'll have gold out the wahzoo by that time.

I was MAJORLY disappointed when I discovered Dragon heavy armor was worse than Daedric. From the beginning of the game, I saw Dragon Smithing at the 100 level perk and knew I wanted to role play my way up to 100. I never once cheating by making stacks of Iron Daggers. I smithed new armor for companions, upgraded equipment I found, hoarded dragon bones like a mad person. I was so happy when I finally hit 100. I couldnt wait to make my Dragon set.

I took off my set of Daedric and I put on my brand new set of Dragon and then it set in..........

I could almost hear Bethesda devs laughing at me from Washington.

It's at the top because Dragonscale armour is the best light armour in the game. That being said, there is no difference at all between Daedric and Dragonbone, they BOTH reach the effective maximum damage mitigation (80%)

I prefer Dragonplate, as Daedric looks like a 70's glam rock band outfit.

I like to outfit companions in DragonBone [those that like heavy armor] because the Daedric stuff looks just a little too evil. It's purely a RP thing but that's the way it is.

I do kinda wish there was some dragon-specific spiff with this armor type ... something like "Absorb Dragon Breath" or an inherent +10% MR or similar ....

You could also make an iron dagger that could one shot a dragon.

This is highly dubious. Even if you craft a legendary iron dagger, it is not strong enough to one shot even a nameless, low level regular dragon, let alone a frost, elder, ancient or named dragon. Did you ignore the level ups that come with the 100 Smithing skill? Got a video link to prove this?

You can do anything with the restoloop.

If you only use smithing/alchemy/enchanting synergies, you can one-shot him with any non-dagger weapon that's fully upgradeable.
