When you get more skilled at Alchemy, you will find your potions much more powerful. Much better than anything you can get in game. That's the point of Alchemy.

Oh, and if you do it right, or wrong depending on your view, Alchemy can make your character unstoppable.

I started crafting potions and to be honest I just dont see a use...

I use no magik whatsoever
I make my own Restore Health, Stamina and Invisibility Potions
I also make a ton of really powerful Poison of Damage Healths that I favorite and put them on arrows.
I make a lot of gold selling potions I make.
I can make a "Lingering Damage Magika Regen" Potion that stops Magika regen on the target 100% for 30 seconds. They are worth about 500 gold each and I put them on my arrows to fight powerful mages and bosses.
Krosis without magik is just a flying crap pile

Paralyzing people for 30s, increasing your smithing/enchanting skill by 150% (or something ridiculous), strong poison dots, etc.

Trollhard,

I think it must be like any other skill - smithing, enchanting, etc.... if you invest in it, you can get it to PAY YOU back by selling enhanced forms of restore HP and magicka, etc.
It's something that if you're just in the first few levels, it isn't a viable option. I'm fascinated by the myriad of ingredients and combinations, plus in the heat of battle a potion it is simply far easier to chuck down your throat than casting a magic restoration/heal spell. So why pay for potions when you can make them?
