CTD When Entering My House in Windhelm

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 1:11 am

Hello,

First, some background:

AMD Athlon II 630 Quad Core
AMD Radeon Saphire II HD 6870 (Drivers 12.4)
8 Gigs DDR III RAM

I use BOSS to configure my load order and everything checks out.

I've been noticing that some cells--mostly dungeons--load incorrectly. I'll see some areas of the cell, usually though doorways, as nothing but blue. As if part of the cells texture vanished. Often times this makes me fall through the floor to my death.

The main problem is that when I try to enter my house in Windhelm, it CTD's. I've tried removing mods but I can't seem to find the right one. I recently upgraded to 12.4 drivers, but didn't notice any problems till a few days later.

Any help would be great.

Thanks!

If using mods that's probably the cause.

Easy solution. Disable 5 or so. Test the game. Problem persists, enable those again, disable another 5. Repeat.

You should find the cause easily.

Eh, it's faster to perform a binary search for the problem one.

Anyways, for mod issues, you'll get better help here: http://www.gamesas.com/forum/183-skyrim-mods/

Test with the upper half disabled. If it's still there, repeat with the half you have enabled. If it goes away, swap the disabled and enabled halves and do the same thing on the enabled one.

If that doesn't make sense: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binary_search_algorithm
