First off, I just want to mention that after borrowing the game for 360 from a friend and playing a bit, I got hooked and needed to own it, but wanted it for PC.
And I was not disappointed for the first 30 minutes. Then I had an issue start to arise that has persisted since my initial purchase.
My game is freezing (I can't think of a better word) visually (but audio continues uninterrupted) and the game itself pauses still for approx. 2-5 seconds, then I get a black screen for an additional 1-4 seconds, and then the game continues as if it never happened (NPCs are where they last were, dialogue continues uninterrupted). This has happened an hour into the game, or 5 minutes after starting up the game. It can happen once, and then goes away for 30 or so minutes, or it can happen repeatedly every 2 minutes until I get fed up and save and quit to desktop.
The issue has also presented itself on many differing occassions. I've had it happen the instant before an NPC casts magic at me, in a dungeon with no NPCs around, in the open world, in the map screen, in the inventory menu, etc.
I have no mods installed, and am running the game on the recommended settings for my setup. I purchased and installed a new GPU specifically to run this game, updated drivers, and have had no issues of any sort running other games (ME3 and Civ V). I've also disabled my anti-virus to see if that was relevant to the issue, but it persists.
I've searched these and other forums for possible fixes, but haven't come across anyone else who is having the same issue (when other people complain of the game freezing, they don't come out of it like I do).
So, any tips or advice?
