Why can't I infect people?

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 4:51 am

I got the disease from fighting so shouldn't I be able to pass it on just the same? I can feed on people but can't infect them? I want to start a vampire town.....what gives?

Haha. That's a good idea, actually.

Your dragon blood and their human/elf/beastfolk blood must not be compatible.

More seriously, transferring the disease is just not something Bethesda included. They haven't in previous games, so it's no surprise they overlooked it this time as well. Could've been cool though, vamps should at least be able to turn mortals into living thralls somehow, as NPC vampires can. Mods will accomplish this eventually.

Turning people into vampires or werewolves would be really cool. Really unfortunate you cant in this game.
Really hoping for DLC that expands on the werewolf and vampire parts of the game. But I doubt that will happen.

Because I'm pretty sure that NPCs are all immune to diseases, just like how all NPCs were immune to radiation in Fallout 3
I think diseases are player-only.

That would be pretty cool, I'm among the folks that think a Vampire guild quest line would be a great DLC. Maybe things like that can be added in later.

If I were able to affect NPC's with Vampirism... most of Skyrim would be one big Necropolis by now... just sayin'.

It's a cool idea, but considering the limitations of radient AI...*shudder.* Honestly, I think there are more effective uses of their time when it comes to coding how vampires work than allowing you spread diseases across Skyrim. I'm glad they included vampires, even if they do, once again, feel like a very "afterthoughtish" feature.

Don't think it would make much of a difference anyways. You have to attack them in order to infect them, right? So you'd end up fighting and killing them.

Oh, but I think you can feed on NPCs while they sleep, correct?

Yup. That's your only option to feed, is while the NPC is napping.

The better question is, why can't I feed on someone who is awake? I'm a [censored] badass dragon born stage 4 vampire and I can't feed on some who is awake? So stupid

Imagine all the fines you'd get if you fed someone who was awake. Or even what your companion might do to you if you tried to feed on her. My complaint is that my wife never sleeps. she says up 24/7 so I can't ever feed on her. Come here hunny I'm going to give you a hickey :P
