Do followers use up charges on weapons?

If I give a follower a weapon with charges, will they deplete the charges? Also do they have unlimited arrows?

I believe the answer to them using charges is yes, and it's no, they don't have unlimited arrows.

I forged and enchanted some good equipment for they Blades recruits to use for dragon hunting, including melee weapons, bows and arrows. The charges on the melee weapons went down and the arrows did get used up, I'm almost certain.

Followers will use up arrows, but slowly, and they have their own generic arrows that will never run out (usually iron). They also use charges, but that is really slow as well. I played hours and hours with a follower and his charges never completely ran out. I think it's because it takes them so dang long to hit anything.

I'm pretty sure Companions do have unlimited arrows. I've given 3 Daedric arrows to a follower and farmed them off dead bodies to get to about 50 right now. They're not getting refills from me.

I'm not positive but I think the followers can take arrows from you. Several times I noticed that I had around 150 steel arrows but I'll be using Ebony or Glass exclusively. Then I'll check my inventory and I will have around 75-80 steel arrows. Can't be 100% sure but I'm pretty positive I didn't use 75 steel arrows and not notice. To throw another curve ball into this, occasionally I will have all 150 arrows again.

Yes followers use charges.
100% sure about this because I have to continually recharge the Sanguine Rose my follower uses.

Also Followers have unlimited arrows but its based off the highest equipped one they have in their inventory.
So for example I equip 1 deadric arrow to my follower and I farm arrows off of the enemies I face.

In my experiences with Cicero and staves, Followers use charges, but don't run out. It becomes locked at the lowest charge level and after that they have unlimited charges.

Cicero fired loads more fireballs from his staff I gave him after it ran down to next to nothing.

I will second the previous post. They use up charges but I've yet to see a follower completely burn them up.

That's not my experience. I gave Lydia a staff of something (casts frost). It's all depleted now.

I've been giving followers enchanted weapons almost since the beginning, and I've never had one run out charges, no matter how long they use the weapon.
