Why no spears, throwable weapons or weapons with projectiles

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 5:08 am

Why doesn't Skyrin have any of these types of weapons. I think a spear would be awesome. Also a blowgun to shoot your poisons with would have incredible. Why did Bethesda leave these types or weapons out of this game? Was it ever rumored or discussed? Were any of these types of weapons in past games?

Another thing that would have been cool would be the ability to make your own staffs that do what it is you want them to do. Maybe made it you never left anywhere without your special staff.

I'm just in love with these types of weapons for long range combat. Another idea I have is arrows that are on fire. I know you can get a bow that does fire damage but I'm talking about actual fire on the arrows. I love the game how it is but it's still always fun to talk about things you would of liked to see.

What do you think? Are there any other weapon types you would have loved to see?

it was actually addressed in an interview cannot find link right now, but had to do with time constraint with the effort that would go into animating, creating, and implementing said weapons without them feeling tacked on.

Hopefully we can see these in an expansion then, when they can get more time put into them.

just hope it is a real spear, you know the one you use one handed and not a two handed pike

I also miss javelins, crossbows, blowguns for the assasins and maybe also bucklers( bonus on blocking and bashing)

I'd love to see slings modded in. And javelins. Javelins were so prominent in the Nordic culture.

Spears could hold a unique spot in Skyrim's arsenal, you could use it as a two handed, one handed or thrown weapon.

Yes, it's called Laziness.
I'm surprised they even added other races than just nords for this game, as the early rumors said.

Besides why bend over backwards to add a lot of features when you have a very elaborate construction kit released free for the community to make their own game ?!?
