"Data Files" Menu Selection

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 1:34 pm

Hey,

So recently I wanted to install mods from the steam workshop for Skyrim. The problem is that I have to enable the mods in the "data files" section in order to make them work. I can't access "Data files" in any way. I've looked on youtube, about 20 forums, steam forums. No solution works for me. I really wanna fix this problem, please help.

I do not know exacly what info I can proide you, since there is no error. But what I can do it to take a screenshot of my files, documents and the launcher. If there is any other information you need printed please let me know.

P.S: I'm not able to attatch files or provide links, why? :(

P.S 2: I have added those extra commands into my skyrimprefs. IT DOES NOT HELP IN THIS CASE.

Are your the administrator of your computer? I suggest that you uninstall your game and install it in a folder other than ProgramFilesx86. You can change the Steam installation folder. See here: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?p_faqid=231

There is also a topic there

http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/468198-help-skyrim-data-files-unclickable/

Some of the solutions seem to work for at least one person.

Delete your ini files.
Then patch the game to latest version(if you havent, version 1.5.26 preferably)
Let skyrim remake ini files. There should be data files NOT greyed out. Also, you might get additional details such as 'papyrus' or something.
