How to become the Thieves Guildmaster?

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 9:38 am

I understand you have to do these side quests for Vex and the other guy first. Is it something like 5 small jobs in one city and then you can talk to Brynolf for the finishing quests? I've done a ton of small jobs and am bored to death of it and trying to understand this.

Yeah, you need to do 4 or 5 jobs in one city and then get a special quest from Delvin that corresponds to that city. There's one for each city other than Riften. After you complete all four special quests, you'll get a ceremony and everything.

its random i think. you have to keep doing side quests until you get the 'special' jobs to retake a certain number of cities.

Really? After 10+ small jobs I haven't done 5 in one city yet, which shocks me. So I just have to get to 5 and be done with it finally? Gheeez.

Yep. And obviously you'll want to quit the jobs you get in a city you've already completed (unless you don't like to quit... Depends on your character I guess).

Five jobs in every city. You get one special job for each city after you've done five other jobs in that same city.

Wow.... that'll take hours upon hours of complete repetitiveness. No thanks Bethesda.

The minor jobs don't take long at all. 10 minutes at most, if you know where to look for things. That is, unless you're not fast traveling.

EDIT: Did math... Point taken. Still, some jobs are shorter than others. If you do a sweep job and a (forget what it's called but where you steal 500 gold's worth of items) job in the same city, you can hit two birds with one stone, since the items in sweep jobs are plenty valuable. Always get two jobs at once and for the most part they'll end up in the same city.

You do five different jobs in a city (not Riften) and when you return from the last one Vex or the other guy will give you a special job for that city.

Once you have done that for Whiterun, Windhelm, Solitude and Markarth you will have restored the guild and will become Guildmaster.

Five jobs in four cities actually. So, twenty jobs in total if you don't want to do more than necessary.

These are the city radiant quests for the TG and yes you have to complete 5 jobs in each of 4 cities besides Riften to become TG. You can accept and then immediately cancel the jobs they give you, until you get at least 5 jobs for the same city. This will make things less of a chore but somewhat lowers their disposition toward you.

Note: city. So only Solitude, Whiterun, Windhelm, and Markath. The others are too small to count as cities.
