Marrying Mjoll the Lioness

Can anyone help me with this? She hasn't given me the grimserver quest yet and I've done a lot of quests in Riften.

I'm playing on the Ps3, and I'm over level 14.

She will ONLY give you the quest to find her sword if you agree with her that the Thieves Guild is bad/evil. If you disagree with her, wait a few nights and the dialog resets and then you can agree with with her.

Also you must have done a few quests for the people of Riften and be level 14.

Hope this helps!

Your character is probably ugly then. Are you an orc?

Just kidding, I think you haven't reached the level requirement. What level are you?

If it is a bug.. It is a very rare one.. Does she talk about her sword...? If so try to clear the dungeon (Mzinchaleft SW to Dawnstar)pick up Grimsever and return to her.. The dialogue might be up..and you could theoretically finish it in that manner. (you are at risk of having the sword being stuck in your inventory though, so use a separate save.)

I just tried this and the sword wasn't there. I searched online and other people are having trouble as well with Mjoll not giving the quest :(

When I married Mjoll, I told her to go to my Whiterun house, then fast travelled there after her. She was in the house, but so was Aerin... seems that he's programmed to stay with Mjoll even if she changes city. I was very annoyed... but then Aerin left the house. I followed him as he also left the city, and started to walk all the way back to Riften!

Eventually we were alone in the wilderness, so I hacked his head off and threw his corpse in the river, after stealing his jewellery (which I gave to Mjoll as a wedding gift). I lost his head though, it rolled into some bushes and I couldn't find it. I hope a guard doesn't stumble across it.

I know this is a week or so old now but I wanted to answer it since I haven't seen anyone answer with this but I believe the Mjoll Grimsever quest not showing up greatly has to do with not being past the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller part of the Main Quest. I have no idea what it's prominence is to Mjoll herself but in making six characters, one with the intent to marry Mjoll, I noticed that in every single one that didn't have the option, what they had in common was not getting that far in the MQ, whereas the complete opposite happened for the others who had been, getting the option. To test it, I started a new character, console levelled them to 50, talked to Mjoll, she wouldn't give the Grimsever quest. Immediately did the MQ, finishing the Horn quest. I came back to her, bam, she gave me the quest to talk about her sword.

On turning in the quest make sure to complete it all the way, I think it was following learning a new Word of Power. Make sure that the UI shows "completed" on the Horn quest before talking to her again.

I'd be happy if anyone wanted to verify, although I'm pretty convinced.

Verified as NOT the answer, at least in my scenario. I am just about to call Mjoll a 'broken quest'; for me at least it has been a huge waste of time. Where is the CS when you need it?

Steps I have taken:

Started main quest, up to 'A Blade in the Dark'.
Became Thane of Riften.
Advanced level to 25.
Added Mjoll to marriage faction, follower faction.
Set Mjoll's relationshiprank to everything from 1 to 4, and wore / not worn Amulet of Mara in each rank.
Tried to start freeformriften09, (startquest) tried to finish same, (setstage 250).

One time I got Mjoll as a follower, all I did was set her relationshiprank to 3, and I got the folower dialogue. No sword, nothing. Just waltzed up, set the relationship, and off we went...

Don't think that's true. I skipped over that and clicked on "Why are you in Riften?" and she started talking about Grimsever, which led to her giving me the quest. Never once spoke to her about the Thieve's Guild.

Try making her a follower first (after fetching her sword for her), then marry her. I did it in that order and her Friend Zone dude stays in Riften.

I told her I intended to join the Thieves Guild and she still gave me the quest. When I brought back the sword she was very surprised and said she never expected me to actually do a good deed ;)
