I see fishing rods, I see rivers with fish, instead of going for a swim in the icy waters and catching them by hand, i would like to settle on the bank with a ale and catch a fish.
Am I the only one lol?

There have always been places to fish, but never a way to catch fish. Well, other than the Slaughterfish, but that is not the same thing.

I do believe someone modded this for Oblivion, so it will probably be done for this game.

And, yes, Fishing would be a fun diversion.

hmm i would like to aswell, but i can see the following scene happening.

Fisherman sitting in his boat causally throwing his line into the water but getting nothing, quite content with it though.

Then comes a mage and electrocutes the river, job done.

I think it would be a bit gimmicky, like cooking. If you want to fish, dive underwater and "harvest" salmon.

Fishing would be cool, but then you would need a taxidermist and be able to mount the fish on the wall. This means you need lots of variety of fish to catch with varying sizes. I can see how this would quickly get out of hand.

Same here. Fishing is very relaxing, whether in real life, or in a game.

Funny, I've actually found fishing rods in the game, though I don't remember being able to pick them up.

Though, yes, I am a Nord, as I said in a previous post and I fish with my hands; I can relate to this as a player. Not in Skyrim (well you can't fish in Skyrim), but in WoW, I've played WoW for years, and yeah, fishing is my relax time, I have max fishing on more than a few characters in WoW. ..... it's relaxing, it's downtime.... it gives the game value, even while I'm watching a movie... it's a good effing idea

Lol. That reminds me of the time I touched a squaw fish (seemed very calm despite my presence) while swimming in a river near the Sawtooth mountains. For some fish this might work but I just don't think there's anyway a salmon (e.g.) would let you swim up and grab em IRL.
