if you want to role play as a DB assassin, listen to the spectral assassin follower, he says sithis does not want this.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: he is my insane little puppy. I couldn't do it, especially since he looked pretty dead already. Plus after reading his journal...the hell he's been through for the Brotherhood...

He's an excellent follower, too, very skilled with a blade.

If you spare his life you can have him as a follower later in the game.
