My New Rp - Bound WarriorConjurer

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 6:21 pm

The title says it all. However I felt I should ask for any tips or tricks what may help. I don't plan on maxing out my skills in any exploit... I'm letting things progress naturally as possible... I'm even limiting myself to smithing with only self gathered ores.

My Plan is simple:

Focus on the perks:
Conjuration
Block
Heavy armor
1 Hand
Smithing
Enchanting

I'll be using a bound sword exclusively for my weapon, and will be using summons regularly in place of followers. I plan on eventually getting a set of deadric armour for my end game/ rp.

I've noted that this build is rather popular so I'm looking for insight from those with experience. :)

I've done somthing a little similar with a mage that dual-weilds bound swords and uses mage armor for protection. I also use summons for range/ crowd control. It's a very fun build so far and the mystic weapon perk to improve bound weapons is a big damage boost early in the game.

There is a mod to add Bound Dagger to the game. That might be worth looking into for when you want to do sneak attacks.

Bound weapons get outleveled by enemies later on... I'm using a mod that adds more levels to the Mystic Binding perk so you can keep up with them. You can't improve bound weapons on the grinding stone (obviously), so this mod makes up for it. The mod is not OP in my opinion... it's a fair balance for those like us who like using bound weaponry:

So far I'm easliy out classing all enemies. I'm buying up any conjuration spells I can get my hands on. My methods are pretty simple, summon a flame Atronach, throw up my bound sword and put on my shield. Allow the Atronach to aggro and then join the battle. This build is rather fun, and sometimes requires a little more planning. Conjuration is leveling quickly. The skill is at lvl 50, and I'm around level 11. I'm not even spamming spells as an exploit just when needed.

I'm planning on just wearing nice heavy armor which I loot and has good enchantments. I'm not bothering with smith perks other than upgrading enchanted items... I'll use the Atronach forge to get my daedric armour. I'm still mining every where I can in in mean time so I can craft iron gear now and then to get my smithing up for levels (and upgrading).. I'm doing this within reason though.

I need to start distributing my perks to things other than conjuration.

Thanks for the input thus far!

Thanks for this.

No sweat, Woolly... you probably will not notice the outleveling of your bound weaps until you get into the 30's-ish level... maybe 40's, depending on your build/difficulty setting.
