Hi everybody, I seem to be stuck in the main quest. When I go looking for Esbern behind his door, he will not speak to me and won't open the door. I have tried advancing the quest using the console commands but then he will talk to me without any sound coming from him and then walk away. I have read that this a known bug, and to download the sound file fix and add it to my data folder. Well, I don't have a data folder, just a couple of text files and a folder for saved games. I have looked everywhere. Help please!

That forlder is only for the ini files and saved games. You have your data folder in you steam folder : "Steam\Steam Apps\Common\Skyrim\data"

Extract the folder called "sounds" or "sound" into the data directory within Skyrim's main installation folder. Supposed to be c:\program files\steam\steamapps\common}skyrim or something like that if you bought it through steam.
