If, for example, you punch a guard on the nose for say something cheeky, then you get a bounty of 40 and can pay off your bounty or go to jail.

If you go to jail then you appear in a cell, wearing ragged robbes and boots and only have a lockpick. If you do not try to escape then you can click on the bed to choose to 'Serve Time' and, 24 hours later, you appear as a free man on the outside.

If, however, you do not try to escape or do not click on 'Serve Time' then you simply stand in your cell.

My question is, if you simply choose to stand in your cell and wait, then at some point does a guard ever come and let you out? My character stood and watched the guards from behind the bars for 1 hour 25 mins (Real Time, not Game Time) and nothing happened. Not only that, but my character was hungry because he never received any food and was starting to feel sleep depraved.

I want to serve my time properly for being a very naughty boy (I broke that guards nose because he made a sarcastic comment about a sweetroll) and not escape or have a two second "Im in prison, oh theres a bed, lie down, out right away" experience.

No idea, Val. I never do anything to wind up in jail over.
