warning about the thief guildmaster tribute chest

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 12:33 am

i stocked all my items in it including my nightingale armor , well when they finally put a tribute in (after hours of gameplay) it erased everything that was in it... GREAT CODING !

and now that part of my game seems bugged i can enter the twilight sepulcher , use the portal , but inside everything is reset , i'm pretty sure the disappearance of my Nightingale armor (which is unsellable) is the reason behind this.
so word to the wise , if you want a chest be careful where you stock your items...

This happens with every other container too. Only chests in your house will not reset.

Unless one has never played single ES game, one knows any chest which contains any sort of loot should not be used for storage

So basically you put all your items in a chest you, and everyone else, knows was going to reset and you're upset? Am I getting this right?

Though I do believe that Bethesda should somehow make it clearer, only chests/containers that are owned by you, that only you have access to should be used for storing your gear. Any container that can reset or have it's items changed is a world container and you can loose your items. This was true in Oblivion as well.

If the chest isn't one that resets you can use it because it will never be touched but that's a 'use at your own risk' proposition.

This needs some clarification! Can you store things in the Chest at the foot of your bed in the Dawnstar Sanctuary? gamesas needs to fix that immediately! Common sense tells you that if you are the Guild Master and have access to a locked chest in YOUR Guild that things should not just vanish out of it. Easy Code Fix (ECF) get on it!

They should make the containers that do respawn organic (editor setting) so they can't accept items.

Only true of Oblivion and Skyrim.
In Daggerfall and Morrowind, things stayed where you put them.

It would be nice to have a little symbol or something appear when you activate a container, showing you if its safe or not.

Not true, I have constantly used a chest on the exterior of Fort Greymoor and it has been fine throughout my game, currently used it from a level 5 to 54.
It is located behind the stables on the right as you come through the main entrance.
There is also the storage in the Dragon Priests mask room, even NPCs can't get there to steal your stash.

Once the mod tools are out we will know exactly all the non safe and safe storage containers throughout the game.
