What's wrong with Companions?

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 10:17 am

So these honorable warriors make me a werewolf, and I'm killing a half of Whiterun population.
Then they behave like nothing happened.
Then the well-known group of werewolf hunters attacks Jorvaskr, everyone else doesn't seem to care.
When Codlak dies, the local jarl attends a funeral.

Why Whiterun tolerates that murderous werewolf bunch (which is supposed to be a secret despite hunter attacks and accidental werewolves running in the city)? What logic is there? The whole questline feels like an idiocy.

The guild quest lines are much worse written than Oblivion's. It would have been better if the developers had created a whole new community for werewolves and then the Companions would be an ordinary guild of fighters and mercenaries.

Definitely not the best writing in regards to the Companions, worst guild by far. Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood was good but the other two were horrible. I agree a community of werewolves would've been much better, maybe future DLC will contain that.

I think that question is about character power.Obvilyous a Deadric lord would smash a bunnie.Like in your situation, you,in your werewolf form it's too powerfull to any local authoraty kills you.But would make sense if they seended 100 soldiers after you. Also would be cool if some Hircine worshipers(hunters) goes after you.

I beleive your "murderous rampage" as a werewolf was only a dream, and didn't actually happen.
Also, there is not much of a difference, between a normal bandit and the silver hand. They mostly wear fur and sometimes wear steel. Some of them may have silver swords, but my charicter can carry any one of the 45 silver swords but that won't automatically makes me a part of the silver hand.

And add to that everything the first reply said that Froch posted.

lol. there are how many long detailed quest chains? you "hate" two of them? I hope you found something fun to do in this awesome game. LOL

I'm not sure that the Companion's chain is a dream and then follows up on itself, I didn't ever take myself through it all the way. I do know that my first "rampage" came without bounty, without dismay and without really... much.

I am very sure that the mages' chain is awesomesauce imho.

You do not have to kill anyone in whiterun when you first change into a warewolf. When I first changed I just turned around and went back into the under forge. From there I left from the outside entrance and spent the rest of my time chasing a rabbit in the field or something.

Short, uninspired and buggy (but this could be said of other quests as well).

PS: Aela's breath smells bad and she's unclean ;)

Just wait until they make you the [censored] leader after one week as a member. Companions quest line was terrible and Beth knew it, which is why they included the harbinger's journal. Reading it is the only way to make a little sense out of the quest line.

It's ridic! Vampires, too, got seriously dumbed down. Pretty much all positives and no negatives to these two conditions. God forbid little Bobby should complain to his mommy that he's not having fun because a game actually implements some consequences to his actions.

I'm actually surprised that you can't be both a vampire and a werewolf. It's one of the few restrictions Bethesda put in the game. Amazing. I guess you can't do everything with a single character. No worries though, I'm sure a modder will "fix" that soon enough.
