Fighting for the Empire is good for the Thieves Guild &

Joining the Empire and crushing the rebels heavily benefits the Thieves Guild because:

- Maven Blackbriar becomes the Jarl of Riften. Maven is an influential partner of the guild and becoming Jarl will only increase her power and the guild's.

- Olfrid Battle-Born, another powerful partner of the guild, will have more influence over the Empire if they are in power. This is because he is an open supporter of the Empire and if the rebels were to take over Skyrim, he would have less influence over them.

- I'm not sure about this point but Skyrim's economy will be more prosperous if it is part of the Empire and that is positive for the guild because there are more goods to steal and more merchants to extort.

- Again another point I'm not sure about: smuggling goods into Skyrim will be easier if the Empire is in power because borders will not be as strictly guarded. If the rebels take over Skyrim, borders will be well guarded and smuggling products will be more risky.

And the college of winterhold will reap the rewards of the Empire as well because the Nords are averse to magic and having only Nords rule Skyrim might prove to be dangerous for them. The Empire is open minded and that is positive for the college (my favourite faction).

What do you all think?

How do you think the civil war outcome would affect the Dark Brotherhood and the Companions? How would the war affect anything else?

The Dark Brotherhood wouldn't care although their questline does piss off the Empire a bit. I agree with the bit about the College Of Winterhold although the Riften point is moot because Maven runs that city whether she's the Jarl or not, she can now just publicly say she does if the Empire takes over.

I don't really think that the Companion's would give much of a toss about it either. From what I got out of the story, they've really fallen off of the ideals that they were founded on and have become nothing more than common Mercenaries who revere a broken axe... and revel in the fact that their leaders love the furry kink. They just go to the highest bidder now, so either Stormcloak or Empire, I don't think it's really matter to them as long as the coin keeps flowing.

The Empire in charge means Talos cannot be worshiped. If Worship of Talos dies, he loses his divinity, which is the first step toward humans being erased from existence and Mundus collapsing into Oblivion.

To support the empire is to support the death of man and the destruction of the world.

The companions are mercenaries with honor pretty much like the Fighter guild. I guess the Fighter guild had imperial blessing as they operate as an private army but does take pressure off the legions and the city guards.
And yes they will not care much if the Stormcloaks or the Empire is in charge but they would not get involved in anything like hunting talos worshipers.

Thats a very 'simple' view of things.
If I'm head of the thieves guild, I can use my Influence to help the empire deal with real killers and other problems.

Oh please, you can't say there won't be any Talos worship under Imperial rule. People will worship him anyways, like Legate Rikke. Most people have had small familial shrines in the years before the Justicars arrived after the Markarth Incident. Unless the only way to worship Talos is shouting his name to the heavens, Talos worship will persist as long as humans are in existence. And Heimskr will continue to preach even after an Imperial victory.

I really doubt the Thalmor will ever be able to reach their goal of unmaking existence. Not only do they have to eliminate all worship of Talos, they also need to erase the mere possibility of humanity from existence. Not a simple thing to do even if they had the firepower to do so.

This doesn't make too much sense. This means that if the people stoping worshiping Daedric princes..they literraly die.And we know that they are on Obvilion long before Nirn. Also Talos is a mix of various people, such as Tiber Septim.
