Yngol shade helmet : V

Where can I find the helmet worn by Yngols shade? It's similar to the horned iron and steel helmets, with the turned down horns. There is a picture I saw during the loading screen and it looks better than either of those.

I think you answered yourself.....the helmet is found on Yngol the Shade. He's in Yngol Barrow during the quest: Retrieving the Helm of Yngol from what I could find. its a unique piece so I don't think there are any duplicates to be found. It also has a frost resist enchantment.

I just did this one last night. For me, the helmet was still on the skeleton sittin in the chair the shade rises up from, not on the shade corpse.

This. Check the skeleton, not the 'Ghostly Remains' left behind when you defeat him.

Can you not just grab it off the skeleton in the chair? Ive heard of a bug with this quest but only in regards to the fact that the skeleton and the helm is completely gone, in yor case its still there, did you try and loot the skeleton?

The only thing that comes close to the helmet he is wearing is http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Iron_Helmet.

If it is infact Helm of Yngol you want, it should there as the others described.
If it is the Ancient Nord Helm You want, you must have completed the Companion Quest line & and have Daedric Smithing Perk to be able to create Ancient Nord Armor at the skyforge.
I did find an enchanted version of it very late (level 60ish) as a loot in one of the tombs I had yet to explore.

Aela has one for sale as well. If you marry her and giver better armor, whole set of Ancient Nord Armor appears in her shop inventory. But for this to happen you still have to complete the companion quest line.
