Want to play 2 characters

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 12:25 am

Want to roll another class, but also continue to play my current one. How would I distinguish between saves? In Morrowind I could name my saves, which made telling whose game you're loading easy. Here, I'm not so sure. I don't want to go to Skyrim folder and move save files around every time I want to play my other character.

On PC you can type into the console save "name" (with quotes)
on console, guess you just gotta remember the number

Are they the same race?, why not just name your character differently? It shows on the save menu

It does? I haven't started a new one yet, but all I see when I look at my saves is location name, eg "Solitude" and time.

On PC if you mouseover the save name it will also display character name and thumbnail screenie from when you saved. Dunno if that occurs on non-PC versions.

Be sure to save two copies of your saves when you're done with one and want to switch to the other. Too many times I'd accidently overwrite one save. I've made seven characters, and no longer have that issue. It's easy to distinguish them when you mouseover. It tell's you who's who.

If the OP is not on console, there's a very nice mod for multiple-toon savegame management.

Okay, I seriously need this. The man's PC keeps having the obnoxious video-driver-shutting-down-rebooting-computer issue with Skyrim, so we're time-sharing my PC and have at least 7 or 8 characters each and finding the saves is getting to be a pain. Do you remember what the mod is called?

Heh. Yup. I just was in the middle of half-a-dozen other things, and didn't have a spare brain cell to look it up! Here you go:

Just to clarify on PS3 it also gives you a screenshot thumbnail and when you scroll through it shows the Character's name, level, location and save time. Just take an extra 2 seconds to make sure you pick the right ones.
