Odd Civil War Chain Glitches

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 11:46 pm

I completed the Imperial quest chain as the first thing I did, collected all the money I needed and as soon as I'd gotten everything arranged sold etc... I bought the house in Windhelm from Brunwulf's steward without realizing that Ulfric's body was still on the floor by the throne.

I have displaced Jarls calling me names and being rude to me and "stumbling" over Ulfric's body with surprised "What happened here?" questions and am also Thane of a city appointed by a man who is still wearing his original armor and name... he is still only Brunwulf Free-Winter, not Jarl or Acting Jarl or whatever.

Does anyone know the console command to correct this? Is there something else that needs to happen or is my level 17 character stuck in a world where she's a pretend thane with the buggiest house in the game?

Please help. LOL... it's funny and frustrating.

im not sure if it works with dead npc's but you can try the markfordelete option. Click the desired object, type in markfordelete. Save your game then reload. Again im not positive if this works on dead npcs but it works for objects (used it to clean up hjerm)

EDIT:Highly recommend saving before and after this markfordelete in case you accidentally clicked on a wall or floor instead. Besides its always good to have two saves at least anyway.

Yeah.... one toon I cleared the table for the name-callers and plopped both the bodies on top , then the hilarity ensued. They still tried talking trash with OH....WHAT HAPPENED?? inserted randomly.

It's the guilt.

Only you see the dead body of Ulfric Stormcloak. It isn't really there.

LIke the murderer in the Tell-Tale Heart your guilt betrays your senses. You will keep seeing his dead body till the day you die.

I did that and they reset. Have you tried to pull a naked Ulfric by one leg into another room? VERY awkward visuals and frustrating body positions that catch his leg or arm on the door and then he gets stuck. It was morbid and a little gruesome. LMAO... when they reset I was even more grossed out that everyone was addressing the scene as if it had just happened. There's some sick b'tard in the palace and he's playing with dead things to freak them all out.

I'll try marked for delete... didn't work so great on the glass still in the house and I can't even figure out the code on the cobwebs so I gave up.

Hopefully the glitchiest town in the game will get some assistance in a soon-to-release patch.

Thanks for the help. LOL

So guilt is supposed to make me feel joy? Because that's what I get every time I see those corpses.
