So I fnally get to the foresworn conspiracy quest on my main character. I come to part where the person who initiated it is killed a guard runs up and I figure he is just a corrupted guard who I need to kill. But then more of his buddy shows up and I kill them too. I look and see stromcloaks don't pay the guards any gold. I come out of the temple and a guard runs up to arrest me I fight them awhile then after looking at my journal and seeing I need to get arrested I stop resisting.

I talk to the forewsorn king guy and go ahead with killing the unlucky thief guy. When I go back he tells me that I am one of them now and he trusts me, but wait I don't want to be a foresworn, particularly if the head guy has already tried to have me killed. So he unlocks the gate and we start running through the tunnels he gets a littlle ways ahead of retinue so I say screw it and shiv him. This of course sets off his followers. But since all I have is these two bloody shivs and there are a couple magic users my health gets knocked down quite a bit so I kite/heal for a bit.

I see the exit and run out but there is 3 or 4 foresworn in full gear outside plus the followers I couldn't kill follow me out. I run around, up and down until I find a gate out. They are still after me and I am pretty sure the guards are betting against me. I kite and manage to get some distance between them so I am fighting them one at a time. Then a blood dragon shows up. When the foresworn start fighting with it I say screw that and sprint off. Once my target is dropped I fast travel back to Breezehome to get my spare equipment. I go to rest while I am there and suddenlly I am sleeping of jail time, wtf?

So I am back in Markath go into the mines and own all the silverhand guards but the chains to raise the door won't open. I think well maybe I need to come at it from inside the prison so I try to get arrested but the guards just kept hitting me with no offer of surrender. I get annoyed and start killing them for hitting me with no offer of surrender. I run into the hall of the dead to heal up a bit and some cannibal chicks tells me about some cave.

I go drop of my secondary gear in breezehome and then go find this cave which this sick chick is waiting outside of so I kill her.

I wonder what happens if you kill one of the Jarls....

A quick tip for you.

Run with the forsworn all the way to the exit. They'll return your main gear back to you. At that point, go ahead and slaughter them all.

to late already broke into the mine and got my gear back. The king of the Foresworn can remain in the hole I burried him in and I guess that quest will be in my journal for eternity. Oh and I won't be visting Markath anytime soon with that guy anyway.

I suspect you guys that initiate game-changing actions without saving first are the same people that try to pass on the right even though there's another car blocking the lane.

Yeah, I didn't like the forsworn, either, but I followed them out of the mine, since I had no equipment. I then let them run rampant, slaying the guards and such, and just waited until they were done. Then I got the quest from the Jarl to wipe out a Forsworn encampment. I get there, and nobody is attacking me. There are all the escaped forsworn, including the king, hanging out, treating me like one of their own. I felt kinda bad killing them all, but then again, I never really liked them in the first place. The whole quest left me feeling a little dirty. One of the things I like about Skyrim. There are a lot of gray area quests and storylines.

The worst part of it though, was that when I was thrown in jail, I lost my war dog. He never re-appeared once I got out. My follower came back, but not my poor puppy. I blamed the forsworn for that, too.

If you don't want to ally with the Forsworn, you can just kill the king while you're in the mine and escape. You'll get your stuff back and get pardoned.

What I don't like is when you go through that quest the Forsworn king says you're one of them and you help him escape, but he just lied. You aren't one of them, there are no quests to help them, and all the other Forsworn still attack you on sight. How am I supposed to liberate Markarth from the occupying Nords like this?
