I really want to get the house in Windhelm, but I cannot find out how to get it because of the "unpleasantness recently." I've completed the Stormcloak quests, and (not sure if this is part of it) I've completed the Dark Brotherhood storyline. I've help 5/5 people, yet I still cannot get the house. It's frustrating that I cannot get it, and I've done some research and learned that it's either due to the fact that I've done the DB quests and/or the fact that I have NOT done the "Blood on the Ice" quests. I'm on PS3, so I can't use console commands. I've searched the Shatter-Shield (one that killed herself) and I've obtained the key to the house, and I've even gotten the two journals and amulet, but nothing has started the quest. I need help, and I appreciate it!

I know entering the city at night is what made it trigger for me but I've heard that the quest is filled with bugs.

I've joined the stormcloaks and I can't get the quest to start even at night. Ive been told by a friend that you need the city guard to do this quest, but I'm hoping that someone can tell me a way around that on ps3

I just had trouble with it today, on my first character I played it all the way through without a hitch. However now my second character cannot talk to the guard after questioning the witnesses, he just keeps saying "I know you" over and over. One of the last two patches broke the quest, apparently.

Everything was according to script on my first character (1.1) but no Blood on Ice on my second. (1.3)

I don't have the patches yet cause no internet. Can't do PC to ps3 patch download but wonder if ps3 to ps3 would work?
