Most major towns have stumps where you can chop wood. There's always someone in town you can sell them to. You'll need a woodcutters axe. If you don't have one there is one in riverwood by the mill laying on a table. Good Luck!!!

player.additem f #

# = amount of gold you want.

Otherwise, go to a dungeon/store and buy/find lesser soul gems. Make Iron daggers, enchant them and their price increases a lot. Sell dagger.

Explore the nearby countryside. Pick all plants, kill any animals you come across, and go into any caves or mines and kill the bad guys and loot their stuff. Then return to town and sell the bad guys' gear, make potions and sell the ones you don't want, and sell the hides- they sell for more than they'd be worth as skins.

If you do this for a few hours you'll make a ton of money.

Besides Woodcutting, do Dungeon Grinding and sell the unnecessary items. Slaying Dragons and selling their remains. It's helpful to have an Amulet of Dibell or Zenithar. Also, if you experiment with alchemy you can make good money as well. Some ingrediants can be combined to create potions that will sell very well. For example, combining Fly Amanita(found in caves) and Dragon's Tongue(abundant in East March) will sell for +50 gold a piece, and you can craft quite alot of them. Additionally, if you kill any vampires, always loot their dust, because combined with Luna Moth Wings(A moth commonly found at night in whiterun hold) will create a potion of invisibility that will sell for +120 gold a piece. Invest in Alchemy, it's well worth it and a free secondary supply of wealth.

Get transmute spell, go far north along ocean shore, take pickaxe. Lots of iron ore, transmute into gold, make jewelry at a forge. Very good for a low level character, you can spot enemies at a distance, and for some reason, bears and wolves don't like to swim after you, they don't want to get wet I guess, and you can get out of Dodge if a bear starts chasing you by heading for the water.

Everyone will buy them cheap until your speech is a higher level- that's your ability to barter, persuade and intimidate. It goes up over time slowly as you sell things to people. Not a whole lot to do about that :)

I start by dragging everything out of the 'tutorial' dungeon and trading it in for crafting supplies and ingredients, then sell the results for more supplies. I spend much of the low levels essentially broke since almost everything goes into more materials, but once I can make and significantly upgrade the better items the money starts rolling in.

At this point I start investing in items to disenchant for spell effects, then start buying Soul Gems to fill. I then take the filled ones and enchant items for sale, the profits from which go to the purchase of Alchemy supplies to complement the ones I gathered while out filling the gems. The potions from that get sold off, which is where I start raking it in once they get valuable enough since I can sell one to clear out their supplies and another to clear out their cash, while the rest go to other merchants for profit.

It's not the fastest way to make money, but it's absolutely guaranteed to work as all three skills eventually more than pay for themselves by themselves, which means you no longer need to use the money from one to fund another.

outside of trade skills, try stealing items from peoples homes and fencing them.

or go to unmarked world locations for loot you can sell off to regular merchants.

It's just like everything else. The more you sell the better your speech and the better your prices. You keep doing things to get better at it and then you can get the perks.

the annoying about speech is that by the time it hits 80+ you will have already accumulated several hundred thousand setpims- far more than you could ever use.

Try to find or buy an item with an enchant that will sell for a lot. Usually anything with Sneak, Banish, Archery, Pickpocket are worth a lot when you enchant them on junk. Then do the Azura's Shrine quest (and keep it) to farm bandits for grand souls to enchant that junk with. My first character made a pile from a lucky Banish weapon found in a chest. Just enchanted it on iron daggers with grand souls and sold them for usually the max gold a vendor had. Had 100K before I knew it.

Go west of Whitrun and find Halted Steam Camp, clear it out and you should find the Transmute Spell.

I found Riften an nice place to fill the black star, first you have the ratway then the dungeon after the thief guild bar but still close to the enchant station, even more fun, during night you have common random event with thieves getting attacked by the guards, they are hostile so you can soul trap and kill them.
However the dark star is for your own or follower gears, not for sale, always nice to make utility items to, pickpocket, speech, carry more and other items are useful.
