Ridiculously High Damage and Armor

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 11:00 pm

I'm a rogue hunter/assassin cat. I'm wearing armor and weapons valued at more than 300,000 gold now. I stealth around dungeons only because I love the screencuts that show me beheading people. Otherwise, I could simply run through like a food-processor with legs. I like the idea of glass armor but with more than 23000 armor rating it's hardly brittle. I've only ever used daggers --- each at 600 damage ... I know, I know, I've been a bit lazy at upgrading them. The bow is even worse ... only 180 damage ... but with 4000 poison damage anytime I click 2, I don't think the daggers or bows need to be goosed any higher. I have noticed that I seem to take down multiple targets at a time and with a single swipe ... and that's a particular annoyance during the civil war quests --- I'm always surprised that Uldric hasn't scolded me for accidentally killing almost as many Stormcloaks as Imperials in those close encounters. My favorite pastime is sneaking up on giants and mammoths and one-shotting them with arrows while they stumble around in typical neanderthal stupors.

I know I'm only fooling myself with all this OP stuff ... but realize, with the exception of the poison, the rest are really exploits rather than cheats. As Blizzard liked to say, "it is as the game was intended".

Hamburger, cheeseburger... it's the same damn thing. You're cheating, man!

But having said that, I hereby place no moral judgments or implications on how you like to play. If you're having fun, by all means, continue. :)

Smithing + Alchemy + Enchanting = seriously unbalanced game.

That's why I don't combine them when improving gear. It ruins the game. And smithing really levels too easy and too fast. At lvl 50+ you should get almost no experience for making iron daggers.

It's Restoration that makes things go crazy .... there's not enough room in the dialogue box for the gazillion% increase --- lol

Yeah, I've made some pretty sick armour with my past play-through. Dragon armour + smithing boost + enchanting boost = uber armour. And yeah, forget about selling it anywhere. Of course, let's not even begin to talk about enchanted weapons. Even now, with my current character, I've got a Legendary daedric dagger that lands a ton of damage. A normal run-of-the-mill dragon goes down in about 3 swipes with it. Only problem is the enchantments don't last long (as in, it needs to be recharged a lot).

Some people may see this as cheating, but to each your own. Have fun!

I'm doing the Smithing-Alchemy-Enchanting thing at the moment. Not going for the huge numbers others have.
I think Smithing is so easy because to successfully complete the game with a mild edge, it's all you need. A small bit of extra damage and armor can get a low-level character through some tight spots.
But if someone wanted to take the time and effort to go mega-crafting, that's on them. If it's fun, why not?

With my weapons doing over ten thousand damage, I dont even bother enchanting them. The armor, with it being enchanted in the twenty thousands for each piece, I just throw on random overpowered enchants, such as fortify sneak 2000% or the ones that make magic free to cast. I even got 1000% resistances for everything on my armor.

This was, however, all done after I completed the game once without doing such things.
Now, everything dies in one hit.
I reverse pickpocket poisons onto people, as they are also instant kills, dealing 6000+ damage per poison.

What they need to do is fix the fortify restoration potion instead of patching the alchemy+enchanting+smithing. The latter actually takes time to accomplish if you want to get that far up.

if you're really not using mods or cheats then try this: lock away all your superpowerful weapons at home. Then only defend yourself by bludgeoning enemies to death with your bare hands.

My stealthy character likes fur armor and the generic Hunting Bow. I might upgrade the Fur with fortify/potions eventually, but having massive bonuses and armor rating is unnecessary. The second equation in the game difficulty is your tactics and manueverability.. It's just overkill if I run, stealth, dodge, chuck potions, and have endless armor rating to boot. The game isn't even that hard to begin with. Best not to ruin it.
